Aylesbury’s Ellen White provided a vital strike in Arsenal Ladies 2-1 first leg win over FFC Turbine Potsdam in the last 16 of the Champions League yesterday (Thursday).

With the Gunners leading 1-0, White emerged from the bench and minutes later confidently turned home Kim Little’s pass for what proved to be the winner at Borehamwood.

The former Bedgrove star previously told the Herald after securing a league and cup double over Birmingham that the Champions League remains the trophy she wants to win the most.

The Gunners travel to Germany for the return leg next Wednesday.
