Vale Park in Aylesbury

Vale Park in Aylesbury

A man was knocked unconscious in Aylesbury’s Vale Park after being asked for cigarettes, the second incident of a similar nature in a week.

The 41-year-old victim was walking through the park when two men approached him at about 7.10am on November 12, police said today.

One of the men asked the victim for a cigarette, but he told him he did not smoke.

One of the men then punched the victim in the face, knocking him unconscious.

He suffered cuts to his face and was treated at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

The attack happened five days before a 16-year-old boy was repeatedly punched in the head after being asked for cigarettes in the same park.

Police have not said if the incidents are linked.

The man who punched the victim in the November 12 attack is white, aged in his mid 30s, about 6ft 1ins, of medium build, with dark brown hair and a tribal tattoo on his left hand. He was wearing a blue jacket and black jeans.

The other man is white, aged in his mid to late 30s and about 5ft 7ins. He was wearing a black jacket with hood pulled over his head and black trainers.

Anyone with information should call police on 101 and ask for PC Thomas Booth or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
