A NEW brewery is being opened in Long Crendon by two accountants who have packed in their day jobs.
The XT Brewing Company, based in the Notley Barn industrial estate, has been launched by long-time friends Russell Taylor and Gareth Xifaras.
Russell said: “We always wanted to do something for ourselves.
“We worked together about 10 years ago and started planning then.
“We both like beer and brewing so that was the way we went. It’s all about working for yourself and doing something you enjoy.”
Russell spent two years working at Windsor and Eaton to get to grips with the brewing industry.
The project is completely self-funded and the pair have decided on an intriguing marketing strategy.
“There’s a lot of micro breweries starting out but they are more traditional and we will be a different.”
XT intend to brand their beers using a simple colour and number system to categorise the different flavours and strengths.
“We hope to be brewing by November.”
The Thame Gazette will follow XT’s progress as they work towards producing their first brew.
