From namesake costumes at the carnival to raising money for charity the Thame Lions Club is having a great year.

The group has had many successful events over the part 12 months, including organising a mile of coins fundraiser, a disco for disabled adults and a Sport Relief fun run.
The club met last Sunday at the Peacock Hotel in Henton, and awarded their annual award to member Jackie Willougby.

The accolade was in recognition of Jackie’s hard work in promoting the club, and was presented by Lion president Roger Blackburn.

At the same event Roger handed over his presidency to serving Lion Ken Bennell, with Jackie taking on the role of vice president.

All cash raised by the Lions has gone to local charities including the Maggie Centre, Staying Alive Thame, Tomley Hall and The Princes Centre in Princes Risborough.
