A farmer who won a national award last year has said he is ‘honoured’ after being nominated again.
David Newman, 46, won the award for ‘Best Local Farmer’ at the Observer Food Monthly Awards in 2013.
David, who runs the Bucksum Farm Shop in Long Crendon alongside his partner Tracy Russell has now been nominated in the best independent retailer category.
He said: “Last year we had to impress ten judges whereas this year we are in a category where we are relying on votes from the public to help us win again.
“Since our award last year, we have had more customers come through the doors.
“I think once people see you have won something it gives them more of a reason to come and have a look at what you have to offer.
“We have had people travel from sometimes 50 to 100 miles to come and have a look for themselves.”
Voting closes at midnight on June 27.
