HOMELESS Aylesbury United are releasing a pop single to raise awareness of their ongoing struggle to secure a new ground.
Local musician Loz Jones and record label Jam Central Records have joined forces to boost United's 'Bring the Ducks Home' campaign - by releasing a synonymous pop single. Proceeds from sales of 'Bring the Ducks Home' will be ploughed back into the club to further the campaign.

The single is due for release, on CD and to download, on April 21 and Ducks chairman John Newman is excited by the prospect of the Ducks flying high in the charts.

He said: "Loz has really captured the essence of the campaign. We are fighting to highlight our fantastic 110-year history, and to bring the club back to Aylesbury for the future generation. The theme's so catchy and will help generate even more support for the campaign".

The Ducks have enjoyed a fantastic season and currently sit within the play-off places in British Gas Division One (Midlands). Off-the-field, however, the club's plans for a new ground within a multi-million pound sports complex have stalled and United have no long-term future in place.

This week, Aylesbury United boss Tony Thompson said the club's return to the town is 'absolutely vital'.

He said: "Being a local lad, it's obvious that we have a massive fan base out there. If we were doing well, you'd get lots of people at games, but the longer we're out of the town the more potential fans we lose."
