Kickboxer and current IKF British Champion Steven ‘Pocket Rocket’ Cook faces a fierce battle of
skill and speed against taekwondo champion Lee Hollingsworth in Aylesbury on Sunday.
Cook is headlined to fight on the Storm Show at Aylesbury’s Waterside Theatre in what can only be considered a grudge match against the kickboxer. Cook first faced his Hollingsworth three years ago in a close bout which was awarded in his opponent’s favour.
It is a result that has stuck in Cook’s craw with the kickboxer now desperate to ‘even the score’. Cook has trained hard, and feels ready to win this on home ground.
He said: “I can’t wait to show a local crowd what kind of talent we have here in Aylesbury, and I have worked hard to feel this confident.”
Sunday’s Storm show, which is organised by Cook and Jo Collins, will also be showcasing two more Aylesbury kickboxers from his Pegasus gym and an MMA fighter from The McLeod Academy. And he says all the competitors are displaying the talent in training to carry away a winner’s trophy.
Tickets, priced at £25, are available to watch the event at the Waterside Theatre and tables are available on request from Pegasus Gym.
