AFTER completing a full race simulation, Mark Webber rounded off Red Bull Racing’s second week of testing with the new RB8 at the weekend.
The team and car went through rigorous testing to collect important data which could help give them the edge as the new season looms large.
Speaking after an arduous week of testing, Aston Clinton’s most famous motorist Webber said it was tough but worth it.
“We got through a lot of stuff,” he said.
“We tested a lot of elements and everything worked well, especially since we had such a big programme.
“That can mean not a lot of laps and a lot of garage time, but we gathered a lot of good information today and that’s a pleasing way to finish the week.
“We have a lot of work to do back in Milton Keynes over the next few days to get the car ready for the next test. We’ve done well over these two first tests and the feeling is pretty good.”
While Webber as keeping his head down on the track, his position at Red Bull was being touted to the legendary Michael Schumacher off it.
F1 chief Bernie Ecclestone told the press it would be great to have Schumacher in a Red Bull, alongside Sebastian Vettel.
The F1 supremo feels that the sport needs the seven-time world champion back on the top step of the podium after last year’s domination by Vettel.
