Thame Tornadoes unbeaten start to the season came to a disappointing end last night (Wednesday) as they lost 36-28 to the All Blacks.
The Tornadoes had a disrupted build-up to the fixture as they arrived late to the venue due to heavy traffic throughout Aylesbury.
Further evidence of this came when they started the game slowly, often rushing their passes. However, they soon upped the tempo and led 7-6 at the end of the opening quarter.
The All Blacks then gained the momentum in the second quarter, with some direct passing straight into the circle however Thame managed to keep themselves in the game and ended the second quarter just five points behind at 18-13.
The visitors managed to extend their lead further in the third quarter, rebuffing whatever Thame threw at them, and took a 28-18 advantage into the final quarter.
The Tornadoes knew a massive effort would be required to drag themselves back into the game, and at one point they did manage to get within four goals, but this was as good as it got for them, as the All Blacks ran out victors 36-28.
