An Aylesbury youngster proved to be something of a lucky mascot when he got the chance to be a ball runner for London Wasps at the weekend.
Six year old Ted Devlin topped off a full on day of rugby when he ran out as Wasps’ ball runner at Adams Park ahead of their 22 -12 win over Leicester Tigers.
The Aylesbury Rugby Club member also showed what he can do with a ball when he joined his Under 7 team mates on the pitch at half-time to take part in the Match Day Tag Tournament where managed to score two tries.
Ted said: “I enjoyed running on and waving to the crowd and seeing all the players run out as well. I also like throwing the ball about on the pitch with Dave Larham (Aylesbury RFC head coach), the other mascots and Sting (Wasps mascot).”
A club spokesman said Devlin was pinching himself at meeting some of his heroes and playing on the hallowed turf and thanked Wasps for ‘reaching out to the community’.
