The Aylesbury High School Under 19 netball team became South Regional Champions for the second year running at the weekend.
The tournament took place at Kingsmead Netball Centre, High Wycombe.
AHS led the group stages, having played and won all of the first six matches against teams from all over the south. The semi-finals beckoned against Brighton College, and AHS played superbly, winning convincingly 20-11.
Having already qualified at this stage for the National Finals on March 16 in Basildon, AHS then faced Peter Symonds College, Winchester, in the final. After their victory, teacher and U19 team coach, Emily Storey, said: “I’m incredibly proud of the girls and the determination they demonstrated throughout the day. They thoroughly deserve their place at the National Finals.”
The team now travel to Basildon in March keen to build on last year’s fourth place finish.
