Rowing sister act Monica and Pamela Relph could compete for Team GB for the first time ever if they are called up for the second World Cup Rowing regatta in June.

The second regatta will be held at the Olympic venue, Eton Dorney, June 21–23, where Weston Turville adaptive rower Pam won her 2012 Paralympic gold medal last year.

Her sister Monica, who last week competed for Team GB in the first World Cup Rowing regatta in Sydney, could now join Pam at Dorney for what would be a piece of rowing history.

Monica said: “The prospect of competing at Dorney in the same competition as Pam is very exciting, however at the moment my sole focus is the up and coming trials as I need to gain selection for the second World Cup regatta first.”

Paralympic gold medallist Pam added: “It’s really exciting.

“If both monica and I get selected for Dorney then it will be a whole new experience with new pressures. What a day out for the family, though!”
