Teen ace Alice Kozlowski from Prestwood has broken the Ellesborough Golf Club ladies course record.
She shot a three under par, gross 68 including five birdies in her second round at the Ladies Championships. The previous record of 69 had stood for three years.
Alice came out as the eventual winner of both the scratch and nett Championships having shot a gross 76 in the morning round.
Her total of 144 was 18 shots clear of her nearest rival, Clara Leathers who was last year’s champion.
Another home grown junior, Lucy Matthews took second place in the nett championships.
A club spokesman said: “It is particularly exciting for Ellesborough to see Alice win her first Ladies Championships, as she first started her golf age 11 as a junior beginner in the cadet programme at Ellesborough.
“With the encouragement of the coaching staff and ladies at the club and the comprehensive junior programme that the club offers to both new and experienced juniors she has made consistent improvements in her game and is now playing off a handicap of three.”
Alice is a regular member of both the Junior and Ladies Bucks County teams as well as being a member of the Ellesborough ladies’ team.
Her success comes a week after she took the junior title for the second year running. She is also going to be junior captain for both club and county for 2014.
