A TITANIC struggle for promotion to National 2 South eventually went Chinnor’s way with a 19-8 victory over Tonbridge Juddians.
Tonbridge eventually scored from a penalty goal from Charlie Harding to put the visitors 3-0 up in the 13th minute and that was the score at the break of this tense affair.
Chinnor’s James Cathcart kicked three penalties for Chinnor to mak it 9-3 in the second half before Mark Chase went on to score the first try of the match in the corner.
Cathcart was once again unerringly accurate as he slotted home from the touchline to extend Chinnor’s lead to 16-3.
Juddians got their first try of the match not long after and it went unconverted, 16-8.
Star man Cathcart stepped up to slot the penalty goal to complete the scoring. Chinnor have made many new friends this year and the club, which will be covered in The Bucks Herald regularly next season, looks forward to another great campaign in a higher league.
