Today is the last chance to vote to help win Aylesbury Rugby Club ‘the ultimate sporting prize’.
The Ducks, flying high in the Southern Counties North where they sit second, are bidding to come face-to-face with sporting legends after being shortlisted in a national competition.
The Magenta and Blacks are one of 40 teams to be shortlisted in the annual grassroots campaign, run by home appliance brand, AEG.
They will compete for votes on the AEG Facebook page to win what organisers say is the ‘ultimate sporting prize’ – hosting a ‘Best Seats in the House’ event where two rugby legends will provide live commentary of an international game at Ostler’s Field.
One hundred specially invited guests will enjoy refreshments during the game, and get the chance to pose their own questions to the professionals.
Having battled it out against more than 800 other teams, Aylesbury have already secured an Ultimate Kit and Laundry Package, comprising a bespoke Canterbury kit designed by the team, plus a state of the art AEG washing machine to keep them looking top of their game.
But Ay’s supporters have until today (Friday December 13) to register their vote.
England rugby star and commentator Will Greenwood said: “The AEG grassroots campaign is a vital helping hand for rugby kit and equipment, and is fast becoming a highlight of the season.
“The shortlisted clubs have done brilliantly to get this far – but now they are wholly dependent on their local community casting their vote. Don’t miss the chance to help some very special, dedicated people and players to win this fantastic, money-can’t-buy prize.”
