Racer Ross Gunn has taken the next step towards fulfilling his dream of becoming an F1 driver by speeding to his maiden victory in the Formula 4 Championship at Oulton Park.
The 16 year old from Prestwood is the youngest competitor in the new F4 series designed to cater for the next generation of star drivers. Ross guided his 185 brake horse power single seater to a fantastic win, a fourth and a fifth place as well as fastest lap at Oulton on Saturday, his best set of results so far after switching from karts.
Ross said: “This feels unbelievable to be honest.
“My team Motionsport have worked so hard all weekend and they deserve the win.
“It is also amazing to win in such a talented and competitive field of drivers.
“Hopefully I can take this momentum on to the next meeting at Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit (July 27/28).
“It hasn’t sunk in yet, it feels just like a dream come true!”
Ross is the reigning British Junior Rotax Kart Champion.
