OXFORDSHIRE Golf Club is looking to attract more Chinese players by teaching staff the language.

It will be one of the first golf clubs in the country to do so in recognition of the growing numbers of Chinese golfers.

Caddies will be taught general Chinese terms in relation to golf, such as Qing wen nin de pingjun meichang ganshu shi duo shao? – meaning what is your handicap?

Other phrases used would be Yong jiutie hui bu hui bijiao shihe ne?, meaning wouldn’t a nine iron be more appropriate and Da de hao, meaning excellent shot sir.
