CHINNOR maintained their unbeaten run with a convincing 35-3 home victory over Exmouth.
The home side scored the first try of the day in the seventh minute when Mark Chase dotted down in the corner after the ball was speedily worked across the backs from a line out,
Exmouth took the game to their hosts and a promising midfield move led to a penalty score and saw Chinnor’s full back Henry Colver yellow carded for not releasing.
On the 18th minute, James Cathcart chipped over the defence and Baz Corpe grounded the ball but the referee judged the ball knocked on. The rest of the half was subjected to horizontal rain and fierce gusting wind but Sam Stoop manufactured Chinnor’s second try on the 30th minute with a cross-field kick to Chase who touched down. Cathcart put Chinnor 15-3 ahead with a penalty just before the break.
The second half was one-sided as Chinnor tore into their opponents with first Liam Gilbert scoring and then Matthew Goode showing good footwork to score.
Cathcart’s penalty goal on the 66th minute moved Chinnor ahead to 30-3 before Gilbert finished off the scoring.
