Aylesbury Rugby Club stepped up their pre-season preparations with an inter-club friendly at the weekend.
Head coach Dave Larham oversaw ran the rule over 30 players for what was their first taste of an 80-minute game this summer.
And the Ducks boss was happy with how things worked out.
“Our pre-season training has gone really well,” Larham said.
“The game demonstrated the improvements we have made, and also the areas we need to develop.
“Our training next week will be geared towards preparing for our last pre-season games – firsts away at Wasps and seconds at home to Leighton Buzzard – and continuing the developments.
“The players know that there are bigger challenges ahead and must apply themselves appropriately.”
Aylesbury travel to play Wasps FC on Saturday.
