Hundreds of youngsters were buzzing around at Aylesbury Rugby Club when the Ducks held a Mini’s TAG Open Day at the weekend.
More than 150 boys and girls aged between four and eight turned out at the club’s TAG Open day on Sunday for a fun filled feast of rugby.
The children cam from all over the area to try their hands at TAG rugby, and learned to tag, run with the ball, pass and score a try.
The sessions were led and directed by Aylesbury’s committed team of tag rugby coaches and supported by some coaches from Premiership side London Wasps and Aylesbury first team players – fresh from a stunning win over league leaders Bletchley the day before (see Sport page 126).
A club spokesman said: “Thethe kids had a great couple of hours. It was great fun and they were all asking ‘when can I come back?’. Youngsters also got a special treat with a visit from Sting, the London Wasps mascot. Thanks go to Waitrose, Burton’s Biscuits, Barclays and Aquavale for supporting with gifts and prizes, as well as all helpers.”
