THAME United manager Mark West is hoping that close to 1,000 fans will come to the ASM Stadium on Monday as his side take on Oxford United.
Both teams have promised to field strong sides for the pre-season friendly and West is hoping that fans can recreate the atmosphere that saw 1,000 people through the turnstiles the last time the teams met.
He said: “It will be a really nice game, last year over 1,000 came so hopefully we will be looking for something close to that this season.
“They are sending out a good side so will be a decent test for us.”
Thame have already played against higher league opposition during pre-season, which West believes could give them the edge come the start of the campaign.
He said: “You always have to raise your game when you are playing higher league teams so hopefully when you are playing against teams on our level it will benefit us.”
So far in pre-season, Thame have drawn one and lost three of their matches, most recently 3-2 to Aylesbury United.
Alex Stewart scored both goals for Thame.
