Grassroots football clubs across the Vale could get a share of a £2.1m pit of gold from the country’s largest sports charity.

The Football Foundation has announced that the multi-million pound funding from The FA is to be made available to help the development of clubs at grassroots level.

Clubs from every region will be able to access grants of up to £5,000 through the Foundation’s Grow the Game scheme.

And now the Foundation is urging teams to make sure they apply before the window for applications closes on Friday December 21.

Paul Thorogood, chief executive of the Football Foundation, said: “This additional funding provided by The FA is excellent news for grassroots clubs across the country that are seeking to start new teams and get their volunteer coaches qualified with FA coaching badges.”
