Aylesbury United’s Red Insure Cup match at Royston Town tonight (Tuesday) has been rearranged after more heavy downpours left the host’s pitch waterlogged.
Following a pitch inspection at Rayston’s Garden Walk Stadium at 11am it was decided the surface was unplayable.
The game has been rearranged for January 28 (7.45pm). As a result, the home league fixture with Daventry Town on January 29, which is itself a rearranged game, has once again been postponed.
The Royston match is the sixth game to be shelved for United in the last seven fixtures.
And it will only serve to heighten manager Tony Joyce’s frustration after he recently called, once again, for a winter break in non-league.
United already have three games a week through to March.
