THAME United’s match at Wokingham was called off at the last minute due to a frozen pitch.

With the team having already travelled to Bracknell’s Larges Lane Ground before the decision was made,Mark West and his players instead made their way to Summerleaze to see the reserves beat Holyport 8-1 and retain fourth place in the league.

This now sets up an exciting finale for the second team as Thame have to play the leaders Newbury twice.

Four goals from leading scorer Josh Green helped Thame notch their best away win of the season so far.

This weekend, the first team are at the ASM on Saturday against Wantage Town. Their opponents are currently 16th in the table, seven places below Thame who are in ninth. Kick-off is at 3pm,

Elsewhere, the club’s under 10s face Thame Boys and Wantage Concords in a double header on Saturday. Kick-off is 1.30pm at the ASM.
