AYLESBURY-BASED striker Rob Hall was recalled to parent club West Ham just hours after agreeing an extension to his loan stay at Oxford United last week.
Oxford announced they had managed to secure the young Hammer for another month, but less than a day later Hall was on his way back to Upton Park.
The 18-year-old hitman has scored six goals in 11 appearances for Oxford but with injury doubts at his parent club and a busy Christmas programme, West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has recalled him ahead of their Boxing Day match with Birmingham City.
U’s boss Chris Wilder said: “It is a blow because Rob has shown what he can do in front of goal, but we always knew that this could happen.”
Hall has yet to make his competitive West Ham first team debut but will be hoping he is given a chance against Birmingham.
