A STACEY Field wonder strike secured Aylesbury United’s sixth straight win, as they saw off Oxhey Jets 1-0 at Bell Close on Saturday.
Field collected possession on the right touchline, before going on a long run, past several desperate challenges before dispatching the ball past Mark Jessop in the goal.
The goal came completely out of the blue, Aylesbury having struggled to impose themselves on the game prior to that point.
United grew in confidence after the opener and had a few chances to extend the scoring as they remained on top for much of the second half.
Ten minutes from the end Jets hit back with a new found urgency, and put the Ducks under plenty of pressure, but the defence held firm for a second clean sheet of the week and yet another three points.
