A new date has been set for the Aylesbury derby after the disappointment of the Boxing Day postponement.
The fixture, which was called off as Aylesbury FC’s pitch was almost completely covered in water, will now be played on Tuesday February 11 at 7.45pm.
The news confirms Ducks boss Tony Joyce’s worst fear. When renewing his calls for a winter break last week, Joyce said it would be a ‘real shame’ if such a big local derby was moved to a ‘cold Tuesday night in February’.
And while we can’t predict what the weather will be doing at the time, it looks as if that will now be the case.
The Ducks lost the reverse fixture 3-1 back in August.
The FC away game was one of three rearranged fixtures to be announced for the Ducks. The club will play St Ives Town (away) on Tuesday January 14 (7.45pm) and Chalfont St. Peter (home) on Wednesday February 5 (7.45pm).
