Steve Bateman says new signing Danny Burnell can guarantee 25-30 goals a season, if he is given the right service.
Burnell has started as he means to go on after netting on his debut at Beaconsfield, taking just six minutes to open his Moles account.
He is best known for his time under Bateman at Slough, where in three seasons he notched 80 goals in 138 games. He even scored 28 times in 40 appearances in 2010/11, including two hat-tricks and one four-goal haul.
He is Bateman’s first signing as Aylesbury FC boss and the club’s new manager has backed him to succeed.
“Danny Burnell works tirelessly as anyone who watched on Saturday would have seen.
“If you put the ball in the box Danny won’t be far away from it and over the last few years he can guarantee you 25-30 goals in this division.
“The team is getting itself in front but not putting games to bed or holding on to those leads.
“There are two, three or four others I can look at (up front) but we’ll make sure we’ve got ample firepower.”
