Mandeville School’s Year 8 boys football team have repeated history by making it through to the final of the Bucks Schools’ FA County Cup.
Mighty Mandeville were up against St Pauls in the semi-final and came out on top 4-3 in a breathless seven-goal thriller.
St Pauls went 1-0 up early on but Jamie Keen tapped home from close range to make it 1-1 at half-time.
In the second half, Mandeville lost concentration and found themselves 2-1 down. Despite going behind for the second time, Mandeville were soon to make the scores level when Tyler Savage neatly fired home.
Mandeville were well on top and looked the more likely to score but St Pauls went 3-2 against the run of play.
Time was running out for Mandeville when captain Jamie Jellis rescued his side with a superb volley from 20 yards with the outside of his right boot, flying into the top corner.
It was a breathtaking last few minutes of the match when Mandeville won a corner deep into stoppage time.
The ball was fired into the box at a perfect height for Keen to thunder a header into the back of the net making it 4-3 to the mighty Mandeville.
