A LAST minute winner from Dan West was enough to see Thame United through to the last four of the Oxfordshire Senior Cup on Tuesday evening with a 2-1 home victory over Henley.
The visitors opened the scoring after half an hour but Aaron Rogers equalised for Thame just before the break.
United dominated the second half but had to wait until injury time for West, the manager’s son, to stroke home a left foot drive from eight yards. United manager Mark West said: “We played really well and were really dominant but found it difficult to score.
“We kept on going and Dan (West) put one in the top corner in the final few minutes.
“We were on top but you always think they may grab one on the break.
“Our goalkeeper only touched the ball once in the second half.
“It was just breaking down in the last little bit for us and it was getting quite frustrating.
“It was a really good team performance.”
The draw for the semi-final takes place on Sunday and West admits his team are probably seen as the underdogs.
“We’re the team the others want but we’ll give it a go.”
