CHINNOR beat Penn and Tylers Green 3-2 at home thanks to a late bicycle kick from Mark Jones.
The home side looked to take advantage of some very windy conditions and chose to play with the wind behind them in the first half.
It was a decision that was soon justified as Jones scored his first with a simple header from a smart Ryan Davis cross.
Chinnor then conceded a sloppy equaliser as a long ball was allowed to bounce in the area for the Penn striker to poke home.
The home side pushed forward and the best move of the game produced their second goal when a smart passing move was finished by Davis after Stuart Braun had hit the bar.
After the break the conditions caused Chinnor problems and they found it increasingly difficult to clear their lines against a strong wind. Eventually they were caught trying to play their way out of trouble and a Penn striker was on hand to equalise.
The home side reacted positively and had a few half chances to score plus a credible penalty appeal turned down but it was fitting that it was Jones’ moment of magic that separated the two teams at the final whistle.
Following a Chapman corner Jones reacted quickly and with his back to goal produced an acrobatic overhead kick that flew into the top corner.
