After five weeks of hard graft and plenty of community spirit Aylesbury FC’s ground is all ready for the 2013/14 season.
Since May 25, some six weeks ago, staff from shirt sponsors M&W, club groundsman Andy Stevens and his assistant Brett and an army of volunteers and supporters have spent every day working at the Moles’ Haywood Way base in preparation for the new season.
According to the club, the ground has ‘never looked better’.
So what has changed over the summer?
+ FC have had a brand new perimeter fence installed along with freshly painted hand rails
+ New club shop painted in FC colours
+ Complete overhaul of the front of the club (landscaping and painting)
+ Main Stand freshly painted along with the covered area behind the goal
+ Freshly painted dug outs
+ Area between the perimeter of the site and the pitch has been flayed and swept
+ Tea bar overhauled with new anti-slip flooring
+ Work on the pitch which has been re-seeded
In a statement on Monday a club spokesman said: “A big thanks to everyone that contributed especially Wobbely from M&W who has missed just one day in the last 44! The club is now ready for the season ahead.”
