Bucks CC FC retained their ADL Premier League title on the final day of last season and are already aiming for the hat-trick.
Bucks beat Walton Court Wanderers in a final day title decider thanks to a Nick Underhill goal.
The title was back in the hands of skipper Ian Pearce who topped the charts with a brilliant 32 goals in all competitions.
Manager Dave Green had lost 10 ten players from the previous season’s title-winning squad. But the manager rebuilt quickly with the retention of four experienced players, Steve Garbutt, James White and Scott Bannister at the back along with Mark Swierczynski in midfield who weighed in with another 18 goals.
Green also injected some experience with the signings of Justin Gordon, Ray Attiba-Davies and the return of Michael Severin.
Another key signing was that of goalkeeper Matt Moran who saved the team many important points and cup ties and also made an incredible 11 penalty saves along the way.
Moran also helped persuade three quality players in Lewis Creser, Daniel Jones and Underhill to join the fold.
This had a knock-on effect which also led to the return of influential player Carl Clay and the added bonus of Frank Clay coming in to support the team management.
Another ex-player, Conan Barr, rejoined and scored some important goals during the title run-in replacing Sonny D’Agostino who had contributed some vital goals of his own. Overall the squad was too small to sustain a challenge in all competitions.
But Green said the team will be improved over the summer once pre-season training gets under way all will be welcome to ‘join the mission to win a hat-trick of titles.
