Entry limit reached as CPM looms

Thame’s largest mass participation sports event of the year, the CPM 10km road race, takes place on Sunday.

The organisers, Thame Runners, say the race is full with the 1,000 entry limit reached last weekend.

The runners will start at Lord Williams’s Upper School playing fields and go through the town centre to Towersey and back along the Phoenix Trail.

A road closure is in place for a few minutes on the Oxford Road as the runners start, and a longer closure on the Eastern Bypass as the runners cross this twice on the way to Towersey and back.

Due to the unprecendented recent wet weather, it does not look like cars can park on the fields so organisers are advising runners to arrive 15 minutes earlier and park in the town’s car parks and then jog up to the start.
