AFTER a challenging start to the season, Dinton celebrated double victory for their firsts and seconds on Saturday.
In both matches, victory was emphatic in different ways. The firsts travelled to Gerrards Cross where stand-in skipper Scott Bowler asked the opposition to bat.
It proved a wise decision as a blistering opening attack from Waqar Mohammad (4-21) and Amin (3-35) had Gerrards Cross reeling at 35-6.
Middle order resistance from Watson (29) and Mohammad (27 not out) saw Gerrards Cross to 100 all out in the 38th over.
There were contributions from all the Dinton top order and a sensational 22 runs in four balls from Gareth Sharpe (43 not out) to finish the match.
The target proved simple at 102-2 in 20 overs, providing that precious first win.
Meanwhile, the seconds hosted Kingston Bagpuize and elected to bat first.
Malik (28), Tovey (54), Mohsin (43 not out) and a superb 89 from Matt Kelloway enabled them to set a fine total of 251-6. With Mike Morgan (2-35), Simon Kempster (2-40) and Kelvin Ripley (3-51) the Baggies never really looked close, despite 88 from Shepherd, as they were all out for 176.
The Third XI couldn’t match the other two as they lost.
