Dominant Bhatti helps Thame beat Reading with ease

THAME Town put in a strong display to beat Reading by seven wickets.

Playing at home, they asked Reading to bat and were soon on top thanks to seamers Sam Lachlan and Will Rooney, who reduced their opponents to 19-4.

Jay Bhatti (5-43) continued the good bowling and forced Reading to be all out for 131.

Thame opened with James Neilson and new partner Harry Desai, but when Desai was out youngster Charlie Beardall joined Neilson and the pair put on 95 before the latter was out for 57.

After this Thame only lost Pratik Patel for 12 in overhauling the Reading total, with Beardall on 41 not out, to give the home side a well-deserved victory.

Tiddington Seconds 149

The Second XI narrowly lost against Tiddington seconds, despite Gary Porter taking 7 for 44 to help dismiss Tiddington for 149.

Thame were all out for 136, with only Alastair Thomas (39) managing to accumulate a decent score.

Thame Thirds vs Aston Rowant

The Third XI continued their good from, beating Aston Rowant Fourths by nine wickets. James Hawkes and John Phippen each took three wickets as Rowant were dismissed for 72.

In reply, Charlie Parker and Stuart Sutcliffe saw Thame home as they came out on top.
