A tree planting ceremony will be held next Thursday to mark the start of construction on the 300,000-tonne-per-year waste incinerator in Calvert.
The event will also unveil a plaque which commemorates the beginning of a 30 year contract with FCC Environment.
The facility is expected to take three years to build and will create 40 permanent jobs. It will generate 22MW of electricity per year – enough to power the equivalent of 36,000 homes.
When completed it will also save Bucks council taxpayers over £150 million over the life of the contract.
