Haddenham’s Winterfest returns next weekend featuring 24 real ales, 10 ciders and a winter market.

The annual event is organised by the Haddenham Beer Festivals Trust.

This year it is expected to attract a record crowd of 800 people.

While not on as large a scale as the trust’s annual summer festival, the team behind the Winterfest say it is ‘always hotly anticipated as a more intimate village event to which everyone is welcome’.

Nicholas Moore, trust committee member, said: “We are a registered charity that raises money for good causes in Haddenham and the surrounding community.

“It should be a really fun day and we’re really looking forward to seeing everybody there.

“The 2012 event features a Christmas-themed fair with plenty of food and drink on offer as well as a number of crafts and entertainment from start to finish.

“With plenty of protection from the weather available Haddenham Winterfest is the perfect place to enjoy a fine selection of seasonal ales, ciders, bottles and draught lager, mulled wine, teas and coffees in a festive atmosphere.”

To date Haddenham Beer Festivals Trust has raised £112,000 for organisations and charities in the area.

Winterfest takes place in the village hall in Banks parade.

It runs midday-5pm on Saturday December 8. Tickets cost £6 on the door or £5 in advance.

The organisers say they are always after any help and volunteers are always welcome – especially for ‘clear up’ the day after.
