‘We should be supporting efforts for renewable energy not opposing them’

I read with interest the article in last week’s Gazette concerning the application by a farmer in Henton, to erect a wind turbine.

It was refreshing to read about his measures to become more sustainable, thus reducing his carbon footprint and impact on the environment.

It was thus suprising to read that the Campaign for the Protection of Rural England is objecting to the plans, particularly when both the noise and land and visual impact assessments found that neither would have a detrimental impact on the area.

I am in support of renewable energy, and applaud individuals willing to invest in this technology.

Yours sincerely,

M. Dyroff.
