Ten airmen who died after their planes crashed near Princes Risborough during the Second World War were honoured at the weekend.

An honour guard from the RAF, United States Air Force, Royal Air Force Association and the Royal British Legion led a procession including dignitaries and members of the airmen’s families from the war memorial in Market Square to the new memorials outside the library.

A dedication service was held at the site on Sunday afternoon.

The men from the RAF and USAF were involved in three different flights and died as they diverted their ailing aircrafts away from the town to avoid civilian casualties.
