Trio’s marathon cycle ride for sport charity

A THAME trio are helping to launch a recently formed charity, The Jack O’Donnell Foundation, by taking on a bum-numbing cycle challenge.

Chris Davis, Alison Hirst and David O’Donnell are part of the way through the gruelling Lands End to John O’Groats bike ride, which they aim to finish next Friday.

It is all in aid of the sports charity, which was set up to help children realise their potential in whichever sport they have a passion for.

None of the riders had cycled more than 14 miles before taking on the 874-mile challenge and their first few days have been incident packed.

By the end of day one, the iPhone with all of the team’s navigation apps had fallen off its holder and been run over, day two saw the trip mileometer fall off a bike and on day three, one of the members fell off their bike, twice.
