Around 500 people have signed up to the annual Tour de Vale bike ride.

More than twice as many people have signed up compared to this time last year, which may be down to the success of British cycling in 2012.

In its 10th year the ride has 15, 35 and 55 mile routes around the Vale countryside.

The 55-mile route sets off at 9am, the 35 mile at 10am and the 15 mile at 10.30am.

Entry to the June 9 event is £10 for adults in advance, £20 on the day and free for under 16s, with funds going to Wheelpower, the national charity for wheelchair sport.
