A number of Thame firms have been shortlisted for hotly-contested awards.

Eight businesses have been nominated in various categories in the Muddy Stilettos Awards.

Companies from Haddenham, Chinnor and Princes Risborough also made the list.

Emma Redding and Chris Fensom, both from Thame, are nominated in the fitness instructor category, while beauty salon Monera and the Umberto deli are also in the running.

There were nods for Thame online retailers Hen and Hammock and Hanna Francis, men’s fashion boutique Gallant and gift shop From.

The award’s founder Hero Brown said: “The overwhelming feeling has been one of real support and appreciation for these local businesses and it has been very inspiring to see just how many wonderful places there are in our local area.”

Haddenham’s Little Italy has been shortlisted in the best café category, with the village’s Made By Mums and White Hart Studios also nominated. Fine dining restaurant Sir Charles Napier in Chinnor and Princes Risborough children’s shop Gorgeous Giggles also make the list.

Voting is open now and the winners will be announced on May 1.
