Thousands of people are expected to visit a model railway exhibition in Aylesbury this weekend.
Organised by the Risborough & District Model Railway Club, Railex 2015 takes place at Stoke Mandeville Stadium today and tomorrow.
Now in its eleventh year at the stadium, the exhibition attracts 3,000 visitors from many parts of the country as well as abroad.
There will be 70 exhibits, including working layouts, displays and trade stands.
Of local interest there will be examples of the structures of both railway stations that existed in Aylesbury – the current station which is being modelled by the railway club of how it appeared in the 1950/60s and also the station that existed at the bottom of the High Street as it looked in the 1920s.
A free vintage Routemaster bus will take visitors from Aylesbury railway station’s car park to Railex and return both days and will run every half hour on Saturday and hourly on Sunday.
Prices for Railex are £8.00 for adults and £5.00 for children, a family ticket is £16.00 although on Sunday only, up two children can be admitted free with each adult. Opening times are 10.30-5.30 on Saturday and 10.00-5.00 on Sunday.
