Former Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona will flip the switch on Thame’s Christmas light display this year.
The recently-wed star has been spotted several times since her move to nearby Chinnor, and she will appear at the town’s Santa Convention on Friday, December 5.
Kerry will be pressing the button at 7pm with the help of the winner of this year’s Santa Hunt competition, who will have found all 24 Santas hiding in shop windows around town.
Those who want to be in with a chance to meet Kerry and press the button need to write down the list of shops with a Santa in the window on a piece of paper and hand it in to the Town Hall Information Centre with a name, age, address and contact number.
As well as the big switch-on, there will be an array of activities and entertainment happening from 3.30pm at the festive event organised by Thame Town Council.
Visitors will get the chance to meet three of Santa’s reindeer while they take a break from pulling the sleigh, or they can hitch a ride on the miniature steam train which will be chugging up and down the High Street.
Schoolchildren will be showing off their handmade lanterns in a special parade and local talent will be at its best as Thame Concert Band and primary school choirs serenade the crowds.
The streets will be lined with stalls selling everything from scented candles to sizzling hot dogs.
