Brill brewery chiefs are gearing up for Thame Food Festival, by offering a beer fan a chance to be brewer for the day.
Vale Brewery in Brill and sister brewery the Aylesbury Brewhouse Co have launched the competition to support the foodie event on September 27.
The winner will get the chance to spend a whole day with brewer Hayden Overton, to find out how he crafts limited edition beers.
There will also be time to taste the beers and enjoy a lunch at The Hop Pole.
Mr Overton said: “Brewing is a combination of science and art, where you have to balance getting the right brew temperature and time with the natural ingredients you are using.
“It’s an art to blend the hops and malt to get the best out of them, and end up with a consistent premium quality beer. The prize is an amazing opportunity to go behind the scenes and see how the magic works, and a great chance to learn the alchemy of brewing, perfect for all local beer enthusiasts.”
And Frazer Sutherland, landlord of the James Figg and The Thatch hopes regulars will enter the competition.
He said: “We love a good pint and there are some cracking beers on our doorstep.”
