Thame United FC groundsman Paul Kuhn has been named as runner-up in the FA Groundsman of the Year national awards for step five and six clubs.
Paul was presented with the award by the head groundsman at St Georges Park Alan Ferguson in recognition of his work in maintaining the 23 acre site at Meadow View Park.
Thame Football Partnership general manager Frank Thompson said: “We’ve always been proud of the playing surfaces here and most visiting teams make a point of congratulating us for their excellent condition, regardless of the time of year or the weather conditions.
“For the local and then national FA to recognise us and in particular, Paul for his hard work and dedication to the game is a fantastic achievement.”
Judging took place earlier in the year with West Ham’s head groundsman a visitor to the ASM Stadium before Paul was shortlisted for the award.
Mr Thompson said: “I would like to pass on thanks from everyone at the club to Paul and to the FA for their excellent awards ceremony at St George’s Park.”
