More than £24,000 was raised for the Thomley Activity Centre at their Circus Ball.

Guests partied in a real circus big top amid stilt walkers, jugglers and brightly coloured balloons.

The Oxford School of Gymnastics did a breath-taking performance, and party-goers dined on circus themed food including real custard tarts.

Organiser, Gail Porter Smith said: “It was important that guests realised that the ball was being held for the children, and to understand more what the Thomley Activity Centre is about. The children were very involved in the preparations for the ball.”

Gail Porter Smith, added: “The amount of money raised exceeded all our expectations, it is absolutely amazing. It came from some very generous donations.” The Worminghall charity will use the money to equip the new café they are building designed to give respite to parents and carers.”
