Takeaway receives second poor hygiene rating just four months after first

Hygiene standards at Piri Piri Kingdom have been rated as 'poor' again

A takeaway restaurant has received a poor hygiene rating for the second time in four months.

Piri Piri Kingdom in Kingsbury received a two out of five rating by an Aylesbury Vale District Council inspector in January.

Now under new ownership, it has received the same ‘poor’ rating.

According to the district council website, a two out of five rating means a business has ‘some major non-compliance with statutory obligations with more effort required to prevent fall in standards’.

A spokesman from the council said: “We became aware that the business had a new owner and therefore it had a new inspection with their new business operator. They are trading under the same name.”

The council will take action if the takeaway does not improve by the next inspection but said it is not appropriate to compare the two ratings as they happened under two different owners.

But current manager of the takeaway Abdul Rahmen has vowed to make improvements.

He said: “We hadn’t fully established ourselves into the business but we will change the name and make things better.”

Piri Piri Kingdom, which is open seven days a week, sells chicken, burgers, kebabs and children’s meals.
