Gemma Aguilar, who opened for boyband Blue at last year’s Armed Forces Day, will open this weekend’s Swan Festival.
Since her Aylesbury show in 2011, the Leighton Buzzard singer-songwriter has had an excerpt from her song Sunshine feature in an episode of Hollyoaks.
Trish Munro, a spokesman for the festival which takes place at The Swan Pub in Stewkley, said: “Gemma is known for her distinctive voice and personality to match.
“Not only has she done over 60 gigs in the last year, mainly in London, she has played at some well known venues such as Proud in Camden and played at some fantastic festivals.”
The Swan Festival will also feature a five-piece acoustic band from Newport Pagnell called Social Resin and six- piece Bedfordshire-based female group Isabelle.
Trish said the girls have an ‘edgy pop rock sound with a twist of funk and soul’.
She said: “Isabelle has played many of the large local music festivals and have been wowing the crowds at many of this years summer festivals, too.” The annual Swan Festival, which is now in its fourth year, will get under way at 4pm on Saturday.
